Katrina Y. K. Tse
DPhil
Postdoctoral Researcher in Sleep Medicine
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Sleep Medicine at the Sleep and Cognitive Neuroscience Institute (SCNi). My current work, supported by the Wellcome Trust, involves investigating the underlying mechanisms of Sleep Restriction Therapy on depression and anxiety in young adults, where I am responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of the trial.
My journey to sleep research started during my Master's degree at the University of Warwick with Professor Nicola Tang, where I explored the day-to-day association between sleep disturbances and pain perception in new mothers. I completed my DPhil at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Simon Kyle and Professor Colin Espie, where I investigated the role of emotional processing and regulation in the link between insomnia and depression.
