Professor Colin Espie, of The Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute, is conducting a census to find out just how well the UK is sleeping in 2021: the SleepUK project. This national study aims to find out what factors are helping the nation sleep, what might be stopping sleep, and how this impacts on the way people think and feel. These data will be used to paint a detailed picture of the nation’s sleep and inform future research projects. The results will be presented in a special episode of Horizon on BBC2.
Professor Russell Foster is director of the institute. His research interests span both visual and circadian neurobiology.
The Oxford Online Programme in Sleep Medicine is a modular course for health professionals and can lead to a PGDip or MSc. Read more
