Why study Sleep Medicine at Oxford?
Established course (since 2016): We are a well-established online course with ten years of experience in Sleep Medicine teaching.
Variety of courses: We offer a range of courses to suit your needs from two-day training, to 6-week Short Courses, to the two-year PGDip or MSc.
Expert tuition: You will be taught by world-leading experts in sleep medicine from the University of Oxford and across the world.
Digital teaching expertise: Our teaching team has extensive experience of digital teaching methods which have been frequently commended by the University of Oxford.
Student diversity: We have trained over 600 students from across the world (at least 55 countries). Our students come from many different professional backgrounds including clinicians, physiologists, researchers, sports scientists and even a pilot.
Flexible online teaching: Our courses can be studied from anywhere with a suitable internet connection. Lectures are pre-recorded and identical live sessions are offered at two times each week accommodating different time zones.
Visit Oxford: MSc and PGDip students visit Oxford for one week during the Residential School where students have the opportunity to learn practical aspects of sleep medicine and to network with tutors and peers.
Oxford college affiliation (MSc only): MSc students enjoy being part of Somerville College with access to facilities and the college community.
Oxford graduation: MSc students graduate with fellow students from Somerville College in their Oxford gowns at the famous old Sheldonian Theatre. PGDip students have a dedicated graduation ceremony during the residential school.
Future Prospects: Our students apply their experience in diverse ways - enhancing their clinical practice, advancing their research careers, setting up sleep clinics, preparing for the ESRS somnologist examination, informing policy in their field, or simply supporting personal growth and development.
Alumni links: Alumni are invited back for an alumni day during the residential to re-connect with tutors and meet current students.
