Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Sleep Neurobiology
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in sleep neurobiology. I am interested in understanding the role sleep plays in cognitive function and how disrupted sleep has been linked to a broad range of neurological, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. My postdoctoral research focuses on the role of cellular stress to induce sleep and let the neural network to recover the homeostasis before it suffers irreversible damage to its activity. To address this, I combine in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology with a pharmacological approach using novel methods in rodents.
I received a BSc in Biochemistry and a MSc in Biotechnology from University of Córdoba. I received my PhD about cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the changes of synaptic plasticity during the development at the department of Anatomy, Physiology and Molecular Biology of the University Pablo de Olavide.
