Training and Fellowships
We provide a rich environment and strong support for early career researchers in sleep and circadian rhythm biology. We host a number of post-doctoral scientists who receive subject-specific training within their own labs and are also invited to participate in the wider SCNi community through regular meetings and collaborative projects.
We run an annual training school for early career researchers new to sleep/circadian rhythms, consisting of a week of lectures and workshops by eminent international researchers from across the field, providing multiple opportunities for learning and networking.
The SCNi junior faculty is supported by external fellowships, such as BBSRC David Phillips, to set up independent labs. We are committed to their career development, which includes full access to resources such as state of the art sleep/circadian research labs and multiple core facilities across the University. The SCNi provides excellent opportunities for further funding and collaboration. Examples of those successfully used by our fellows to expand their groups include the BBSRC Doctoral Training Program and the Elysium post-doctoral fellowships.
We welcome enquiries from those interested in undertaking a DPhil or postdoctoral training within the SCNi. Please contact the relevant individual PIs or scni@ndcn.ox.ac.uk.
